President Bola Tinubu has reinstated Muhammad Danjuma, Permanent Secretary (Special Duties) in the Federal Ministry of Finance, two months after he was suspended over allegations linked to a purported government agency, which reportedly operated with the involvement of public servants.
The reinstatement followed a report by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on the activities of the purported National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, allegedly promoted by George Buchi Nwabueze.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Olumuyiwa Abel, conveyed the President’s approval in a letter dated October 22, 2026, with Danjuma’s reinstatement taking effect from October 21.

Tinubu had, on August 21, 2026, approved the suspension of Danjuma and two other permanent secretaries following the ICPC report, which raised concerns over the activities of the purported project office and the suspected active involvement of public servants in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
The suspension was part of the government’s response to the allegations surrounding the activities of the office, although the announcement of Danjuma’s reinstatement did not provide further details on the findings of the investigation or establish any wrongdoing against him.
Following what the government described as due diligence, the President approved the lifting of Danjuma’s suspension and directed the Head of the Civil Service to recall him to duty with immediate effect.
Danjuma is expected to resume his official responsibilities in accordance with the extant Public Service Rules, applicable regulations and ethical standards governing the Federal Civil Service.
