Dangote Industries Limited has once again been named Africa’s Most Admired Brand, extending its dominance for the eighth consecutive year in the Brand Africa 100 rankings.

The announcement was made at the 16th edition of the Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands survey in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The study, regarded as the continent’s most comprehensive consumer-led brand assessment, spans 30 countries covering over 85 per cent of Africa’s population and economic activity.

In the latest results, Dangote topped the aided recall category, ahead of MTN and Vodacom, while also ranking second in spontaneous recall behind MTN and ahead of Trade Kings. The conglomerate retained its position as Africa’s leading industrial brand and was ranked the No. 1 African brand contributing to a better society, reflecting its role in industrialisation, job creation and economic development.

Brand Africa noted that African brands still account for only 15 per cent of the continent’s Top 100 most admired brands, with global players continuing to dominate the rankings. Despite this, Dangote remains one of Africa’s strongest corporate performers alongside MTN and Ethiopian Airlines.

Brand Africa Founder, Thebe Ikalafeng, said strengthening African brands is critical to the continent’s economic future, urging greater support for locally made products and services.

The report also ranked Dangote highly in sustainability and social impact, placing it second among brands recognised for positive contributions to society and the environment.

Meanwhile, Dangote Industries’ Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, was named among Africa’s 100 Most Influential Chief Marketing Officers. The recognition, part of the inaugural Africa CMO 100 list, highlights marketing leaders shaping brand growth and corporate reputation across the continent.

Chiejina was among 17 Nigerians and 20 West African executives selected for the honour, based on leadership impact, industry influence and contribution to brand development.

The latest accolades add to Dangote’s growing list of recognitions, including its induction into the Brand Africa Hall of Fame and lifetime honours for its President, Aliko Dangote, for advancing industrialisation and indigenous enterprise across Africa.
