Dangote Refinery has slashed its ex-depot petrol price as part of a fresh push to undercut the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and other major fuel marketers.

Findings by Daily Sun on Petroleumpriceng on Friday showed that the refinery reduced its ex-depot price to N699 per litre, down from N828 per litre. The N129 drop represents a 15.58 per cent reduction.

The latest adjustment is the refinery’s 20th price review this year and comes just ahead of the Yuletide season, when demand for petrol typically rises.

The move follows two recent downward price reviews announced by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited and independent filling stations within the past three weeks, which have brought the pump price in Abuja to between N915 and N937 per litre.
