A book, Leading in a Storm, recently authored by leadership expert and former public administrator, Dr Dakuku Peterside, has received international endorsements.
Renowned author and former executive at global tech firms, Philipp Humm commended Peterside’s work for its practical approach to navigating crises.

“Navigate chaos with confidence,” Humm said. “This leadership guide provides powerful insights, stories, and tools for leaders to adapt, think creatively, and lead effectively during unpredictable times.”
Similarly, Professor Andrew Sykes of the Kellogg School of Management, and CEO and Founder of Habits at Work, described the book as indispensable for leaders facing today’s challenges.
“Leading is challenging even in the best circumstances. Leading during chaos demands a completely different skill set: a clear mind and a process for steering your team and your organisation toward calmer waters,” Sykes noted.

“This book offers perfect guidance, complete with anecdotes and stories illustrating its points. Given that we frequently transition from one crisis to another, this book is essential reading for the modern leader.”
According to both experts, Peterside’s book is not only suitable for boardrooms and cabinet meetings but also for any high-pressure environment where leaders must make quick decisions with limited information. It provides frameworks for managing complexity, interpreting context, and maintaining composure under pressure, while also stressing the balance between urgency and sound judgment.
Building on the success of his earlier bestseller, Strategic Turnaround: Story of a Government Agency, Peterside distils years of leadership experience into a playbook designed to convert confusion into priorities and uncertainty into forward momentum.
Speaking on his motivation for the work, Peterside explained: “I wrote this as a practical companion for leaders who must perform even when the path isn’t clear. The goal is straightforward: to help people act with clarity, mobilise teams with purpose, and deliver results amid the storm.”
With Leading in a Storm, Peterside provides what experts describe as a roadmap for leaders seeking not only to survive turbulence but also to turn it into an opportunity for growth and transformation.
