Dafinone hails APC unanimous endorsement of Tinubu for 2027, says move timely and deserving

Senator representing Delta Central, Ede Dafinone, has hailed the unanimous endorsement of President Bola Tinubu by the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election decision as both timely and deserving.

The landmark decision was made during the APC National Summit on the Renewed Hope Agenda, held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday.

Dafinone Emphasising that the move was a proactive reward for the achievements of President Tinubu in his first two years in office.

“We are building a future rooted in accountability, growth, and grassroots empowerment,” he told journalists on the sidelines of the summit. “Mr. President, through his Renewed Hope Agenda, has laid a pathway to achieving these targets.”

The endorsement was echoed by APC governors, the party’s National Working Committee, and the APC-led leadership of the National Assembly, all of whom threw their weight behind President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Dafinone highlighted the early signs of economic improvement as a justification for the tough decisions taken by Tinubu’s administration, particularly concerning the removal of fuel subsidies and the management of the exchange rate. “The repositioning of our economy was an essential piece of the Renewed Hope Agenda, and this will guarantee a strong, vibrant economy,” he said.

He further noted that the early endorsement not only solidifies party unity but also reduces the risk of divisive internal contests ahead of the next general elections. “What we are seeing now is a testament to the wisdom and foresight of the APC leadership under Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, and the National Assembly hierarchy led by Senator Godswill Akpabio and Honourable Tajudeen Abbas,” Dafinone said.

Drawing a contrast with other political parties, Dafinone pointed out that while some are grappling with leadership crises and defections, the APC is consolidating its strength at both leadership and membership levels. “We can see this happening in Delta State as Governor Sheriff Oborevwori steers the ship to victory,” he added.

Concluding his remarks, Dafinone expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects for the 2027 elections. “While I applaud the steps taken, I am also confident that APC is heading for an even more commanding victory in Delta State and across the country at the polls in 2027.”
