‎Preparations are underway for the National Track Championship as Nigeria’s top cyclists gear up for selection ahead of the 2026 Confederation of African Cycling, CAC African Track and Para-Track Cycling Championships in Abuja.

‎The continental championships will take place in two phases at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Velodrome.

‎The first would be the Para-Track events scheduled to hold May 9-11, 2026 while the Track Championships follow from 13-17 May, 2026.

‎The preparatory phase, according to the Technical Director of the Cycling Federation of Nigeria, CFN, Bashir Mohammed, is a critical step in assembling a strong Team Nigeria contingent, with the cyclists undergoing structured performance assessments and competitive evaluation.

‎With Abuja set to host cyclists from across the continent, the NSC in collaboration with the CFN, is focused on ensuring Nigeria presents a competitive, well-prepared and merit-based national team
