Connecting One Million Women to Trade (CWT), is set to launch on December 12, 2024, in Lagos, Nigeria.

The programne aims to empower one million women entrepreneurs across Africa, the Americas, and the Caribbean.

CWT recognizes the immense potential of women in trade and seeks to create a robust ecosystem for female entrepreneurs to thrive. By fostering collaboration, providing access to resources, and dismantling barriers, CWT will empower women to drive economic growth and create a more equitable future.

Key Objectives of CWT are empowerment, collaboration to foster partnerships between women entrepreneurs, businesses, and organizations and to drive sustainable economic development through women-led businesses.

In a statement, CWT said it has already made significant strides in its pre-launch phase, securing endorsements from prominent figures and engaging with key stakeholders. The initiative aims to collaborate with at least 10,000 business associations and cooperatives to reach a vast network of women entrepreneurs.

The launch event will feature distinguished leaders who will champion women’s economic empowerment. CWT’s partnership with OAKWOOD Green Africa and Women Business Collaborative, solidified through Memorandums of Understanding, marks a significant step towards achieving its ambitious goal.
