Customs warns public against recruitment scam

The Nigeria Customs Service has warned the public against falling for a fake recruitment update purportedly issued by the service.

In a notice shared on its verified Facebook page on Thursday, the service denied issuing the update.

The fake update, which was riddled with grammatical errors, was dated July 22, 2026 and carried the NCS logo.

It claimed the Nigeria Customs Service would commence its “next phase of recruitment” on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at designated venues across the six geopolitical zones of the federation.

It advised candidates to attend designated screening centers strictly in plain white shirt.

It further directed that footwear and other accessories should remain simple and professional.

But the Nigeria Customs Service denied issuing the update and urged job applicants and other members of the public to disregard it.

The NCS said, “The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) wishes to inform the public that the purported recruitment update currently circulating on some social media platforms is fake and did not originate from the Service.

“Members of the public are advised to disregard the publication and rely only on information disseminated through the official communication channels of the Nigeria Customs Service.
