Currency racketeering: EFCC nabs suspect in Enugu

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested one Hussaini Ibrahim in connection with alleged currency racketeering of N460,000 in Enugu State.

In a Thursday statement, the EFCC said the Special Task Force of the commission’s Enugu Zonal Directorate arrested the suspect on Wednesday, November 13, following intelligence received by the commission linking him with suspected currency racketeering.

The anti-graft commission said Ibrahim was arrested around Emenite area of Enugu metropolis with N200 denomination totalling N460,000.

“He will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the EFCC said.

Earlier, the commission said its Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate arrested 11 suspected currency racketeers and internet fraudsters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Tuesday, November 12.
