Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and member representing Nwangele state constituency, Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, has commended the Ezeigbo Ghana, Chukwudi Ihenetu, for promoting Igbo culture and tradition in the diaspora.
Iwuanyanwu stated this at a breakfast meeting recently with Ihenetu in his Basilica of Grace country home, Dim-na-Nume Isu, Nwangele LGA, Imo State.
The lawmaker thanked the Igbo diaspora king for honouring his invitation while commended him for promoting Igbo culture and tradition, including language nuances and social anthropology, through the annual new yam festival in the Republic of Ghana.
He lauded the monarch for working to ensure the festival grows to become a global event drawing world attention to his traditional leadership, thereby putting the revered Igbo throne in Ghana on the map.
Giving a brief overview of the legislative performance index of Iwuanyanwu within his three and a half years in office, Imo-born media consultant, public relations expert and publisher of 4th Estate Reporters, Njoku Obinna, who was part of the Ezeigbo’s colourful entourage, situated a number of the people-oriented projects and other empowerment programmes practically executed by the state representative of Nwangele constituency.
He said Iwuanyanwu has served meritoriously with testimonies deserving his re-election bid to the Imo State House of Assembly in order to concretise and consolidate on his good works for the mass of the members of his constituency.
In his remarks, Ezeigbo Ghana, Dr. Ihenetu, thanked Iwuanyanwu for according him such reception as he also eulogised the sterling performance of the lawmaker, saying he has not been found wanting in his legislative outings and oversights functions as member representing Nwangele.
