CSR:  Olukoya, MFM commended for impactful social intervention in Bayelsa

General Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM), Dr Daniel Olukoya and MFM Okaka Mega Axis have been commended the impactful social intervention of the Pentecostal ministry in Bayelsa State.

 Bayelsa State Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, the monarch of Okaka, His Royal Majesty  (Dr.) Morris Itelimo, Obigbo VI of Okaka as well as the Okaka-Epie community gave the joint commendation in appreciation of the positive impact made in the community through the Corporate Social Responsibilities programmes and evangelistic activities of the church and for supporting the ASSURED Agenda of the Bayelsa State government.

I his remarks at the after the launching of the MFM Bayelsa Mega Axis Foodmart, held in the church premises, Koku Obiyai attested to the fact that Dr. Olukoya and the church had greatly impacted the state through its numerous social intervention activities aimed at alleviating hunger and hardships which the ordinary man is grappling with and empowering the residents of the State.

The other speakers all praised the way MFM for reaching out to both members and non-members of the church in Bayelsa by providing food gifts and financial support, community development as parts of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), is second to none.

As part of the event, various foodstuffs were displayed for purchase, including rice, bean, garri, potatoes, cucumbers, vegetables, ewedu, palm oil, and sugarcane, among others.  During the event a custard container measure of rice normally sold for N8,000 in the market was sold for N3500, a bottle of palmoil was sold for N600, while a custard container measure of Garri sold for N3000 or more in the market was sold for N1,300 as well as other low-priced food items.

Koku-Obiyai said: “Bayelsa State government and the entire people of the state truly commend the efforts of Dr. Olukoya and MFM Bayelsa for their commitment to serving humanity.

“MFM has keyed into the ASSURED Agenda of Bayelsa State government which entails an agricultural revolution and food security. This is highly commendable. The church has been training our youths in agriculture and engaging them in farming, which has helped in providing food security, thereby reducing unemployment, is praise worthy.

“We are grateful as a government for all these even the Foodmart organised by the Church, where food items are sold to the people at a very, very reduced prices. Dr Daniel Olukoya is a true man of God with a heart of gold.”

Earlier, the Mega Regional Overseer (MRO), Pastor Emmanuel Akinola, in his welcome address said that the idea behind the foodmart was to enable the people have access to reliable, affordable and health staple food items at discounted rates below the market prices.
