Beehive School, a leading early years and primary institution located in Ikeja, Lagos, has reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility and global citizenship through the successful execution of its annual Year 6 capstone project themed “Sharing for Impact.”
In a heartwarming act of generosity and empathy, the graduating Year 6 pupils of the school, guided by their teachers and supported by their families, planned and carried out a donation drive that provided essential learning materials to pupils at Agidingbi Primary School, a public school within their local community. Items donated included notebooks, school bags, water bottles, stationery, and other school supplies.
This project was designed in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
Managing Director of Beehive School, Mrs. Boyede Adebanjo, described the laudable gesture as a practical demonstration of the schools philosophy of nurturing learners who are not only academically prepared but also deeply conscious of their roles as changemakers in society.
“At Beehive School, we believe that true education includes empathy, generosity, and leadership. This project is a powerful reminder that children can be active contributors to their communities when given the opportunity and guidance,” Adebanjo said.
The “Sharing for Impact” initiative is a tradition that marks the final term of Year 6 at Beehive School. Each year, pupils are encouraged to plan and execute a meaningful social impact project that reinforces values such as service, teamwork, gratitude, and compassion as they prepare to transition to secondary school.
With this project, Beehive School once again demonstrated its commitment to raising well-rounded individuals, children who not only excel in academics but also understand the importance of giving back and building a more inclusive society.
With a commitment to academic excellence, social responsibility, and whole-child development, Beehive School provides a nurturing environment where children grow to become confident, capable, and caring individuals.
