The Cross River State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Isaiah Dennis Okoi (29) and Otu Omini Otu (40), for allegedly stealing N500,000 worth of gadgets, certificates, and cash from the NCCF lodge, Ntamkpo, in Yakurr LGA.
One of the suspects, Isaiah Okoi, was apprehended by the police on 7 February 2026 with the help of community leaders.
The second suspect, Otu Omini, was brought to the Ugep Divisional Police Station by the Officer Commanding Military from 246 Barracks, Ikom, and attached to Ugep, in connection with the alleged offence.
According to sources, “the burglary incident occurred on 30 January 2026, at about 5:30 a.m. at the NCCF lodge, Ntamkpo.

“Two corps members, Oladele Mathew and Afolabi Okikiola, reported that unknown persons broke into their rooms through the back door while they were away for morning devotion.
“Items stolen include three HP laptops and one Dell laptop valued at ₦410,000, five power banks valued at ₦76,000, two ear pods valued at ₦10,000, one iTel P33+ mobile phone valued at ₦80,000, two school bags containing credentials and other valuables, as well as the sum of ₦15,000 cash,” the source said.
Cross River State Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Akata, confirmed the arrests, saying investigation is ongoing.
He attributed the success in apprehending the suspects to synergy with sister agencies and community members and welcomed partnership with communities in apprehending criminals.
