The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State has taken a major step towards reclaiming power in 2027 with the inauguration of a 36-member strategy committee.
The committee was inaugurated on Saturday at the PDP State Secretariat in Calabar, during a strategic meeting presided over by the State Chairman, Hon. Venatius Ikem.
The meeting, which had in attendance members of the State Working Committee, Board of Trustees and critical stakeholders, deliberated extensively on the roadmap for total victory for the party in the 2027 general elections.
The high-powered committee has Hon. Ikem as Chairman and includes notable party leaders as members including former Deputy Governor, Efiok Cobham, Senator Prof. Sandy Onor, Rt. Hon. Itam Abang, Prof. Zana Akpagu, Barr. Alphonsus Eba, Hon. Florence Inyang, among others.
According to the party, the committee is saddled with the responsibility of advising and crafting effective winning strategies for the campaigns.
Addressing the team, State Chairman of the party, Venatius Ikem, said, “The committee will advise and guide the party as it moves ahead to the gubernatorial elections.”

“We are happy with the momentum the party has generated so far. The euphoria of support has come at a timely moment and we are now the party to beat.
“This is a very strategic moment for the party, we will not relent,” he said.
He tasked party men to build on this momentum and always factor the party into whatever they are doing.

Congratulating the appointees, the PDP, in a statement by its State Publicity Secretary, Prince Mike Ojisi, urged them to deploy their wealth of experience, loyalty and commitment to deliver victory for the party.
