The Cross River State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has apprehended two youth for vandalizing street lights and an ATC Transmitter station in the state.
One of the suspects, one Kingsley Edem is alleged to have vandalized eleven solar powered street lights and four solar panels belonging to the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
The second suspect, Kelly Emmanuel was apprehended for vandalizing the ATC Transmitter station in Akpabuyo LGA.
State Commandant of the NSCDC Okarazu Eke disclosed this in his office in Calabar said “We arrested a suspect on the 6th of December 2025 and recovered Eleven street light poles and four solar panels which were installed by the NDDC.
“Further operations on the 12th of December 2025 led to the additional recovery of a solar powered street light from Kingsley Ekpo, who is currently in custody.
“In the early hours of Monday 15th December 2025 our tactical team reacted to a distress call and apprehended a suspect Kelly Emmanuel at 02:15 in an ATC Transmitter station at Akpabuyo LGA” , he said.

He warned that the NSCDC intelligence network is focused not just on vandals but also on the final destination and end users of stolen assets saying those who patronize vandals are accomplices, and will face the law.
The State Commandant also announced the deployment of undercover assets as well as tactical patrols across vulnerable locations to frustrate the activities of vandals.
