The Director of Servicom at the University of Calabar (Unical), Prof Patrick Egaga, has been abducted by gunmen.
Dialy Sun checks revealed that Egaga, a professor at the department of special education in the university, was abducted on Sunday night at his residence at the university staff quarters.
The gunmen were said to have whisked him away through the river that overlooks the university’s staff quarters.
It was gathered that the gunmen also came in through the same river that connects the Calabar to Akpabuyo Local government area of the state.
Confirming the abduction, Cross River State Police Command spokesperson, SP Irene Ugbo, said: “Though the family didn’t report the incident, we are working to secure his release.”
The University spokesman, Mr Effiong Eyo, said the University learnt of the abduction on Monday morning and the university security is networking.
