The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt Hon. Peter Odey, PhD, has revalidated his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging party members to close ranks and support President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu.

Dr Odey disclosed this during the APC e-registration and revalidation exercise held in his office at Government House, Calabar, on Thursday.

He affirmed his unwavering loyalty to the APC and its ideals, maintaining that the party remains the only credible platform capable of delivering sustained development, economic stability, and inclusive governance at both state and national levels.

Addressing party members and stakeholders, Dr Odey said, “Close ranks and intensify your support for Governor Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The Otu-led administration in Cross River State and the Tinubu-led Federal Government are focused, people-centred and reform-driven, and the dividends of democracy are gradually taking root across communities.

“The task before party faithful is to protect, defend, and consolidate these gains through unity, discipline, and effective grassroots mobilisation,” he said.

The deputy governor described the APC as a strong, progressive political movement with the capacity to reposition Cross River State and Nigeria for long-term growth.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national leadership of the APC for the introduction of the e-registration system, saying the initiative will sanitise the party, deepen internal democracy, and ensure that only genuine and committed members drive the party’s affairs.

He also welcomed the integration of National Identification Numbers (NIN), voter cards and APC membership cards into the process, saying it will enhance credibility, transparency, and accountability.

He tasked APC members and supporters across the state to fully embrace the exercise, describing it as a strategic step towards building a stronger, data-driven and election-ready party structure, while encouraging them to obtain digital certification as verified members of the APC.
