The Cross River State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has expelled its immediate past state chairman, Alphonsus Eba.

This follows a State Caretaker Committee meeting convened by the Ntufam Ekum Ojogu, the acting chairman of the party on Monday, December 22, 2025.

The committee which resolved to expel the former chairman said it invoked of Article 21.5(v) of the APC Constitution (as amended on 26 March 2022).

A statement by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Emmanuel Inyang said the motion to expel Okadigbo was moved by Dr. Abubakar Efoli, Vice Chairman of the Party representing the Central Senatorial District and Seconded by Dr. Joseph Idagu Ogar , Youth Leader North.

He said the party “cited constitutional provision states that any member who institutes legal action against the party or any of its officers on matters relating to the discharge of party duties, without first exhausting the internal mechanisms for redress provided by the Constitution, shall automatically stand expelled upon the filing of such action.

“Furthermore, no appeal against such expulsion shall be entertained until the member withdraws the action from court.

“Based on this provision, the Committee affirmed the expulsion of Mr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba”, he said.

He added that the committee also upheld the suspension of the State Special Leader Dr. Juliet Diwa who is alleged to have engaged in a gross misconduct at the ward level.
