The National Democratic Congress candidate for Akpabuyo, Bakassi and Calabar South Federal Constituency in Cross River State, Ededem Hogan, has said the yearnings of the people shows that the constituency lacked quality representation at the National Assembly.
Hogan, an international development expert who stated this during an interview in Calabar said the difficulties faced by residents of the federal constituency reflect a gap in representation over the years.
“We know what our people are saying. We know the cries of our people. We know how difficult times are. The economy and all the basic things that make life meaningful are totally lacking,” he said.
The NDC candidate promised a representation “based on competence, integrity, track record and compassion” that will work for everyone in the federal Constituency and not a selected few.
“We are offering to address development, youth unemployment, flooding and gully erosion. It is no longer time for one-size-fits-all empowerment where bags of rice and minibus answer to every need,” he said.
Hogan said he will work with relevant agencies including the Nigerian Delta Development Commission, NDDC and the South-South Development Commission to address environmental and development challenges.
“My political clout is the people. We symbolize the hopes and aspirations of the good people of ABC. By the grace of God, we will prevail,” he added.
