The Cross River State government has flagged off an aggressive voter registration campaign.

The government hopes to mobilize eligible youths across the state to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise with a target of 6 million new voters.

Tete Okon, the Special Assistant to the Cross River State governor on Youth Mobilization – South disclosed this while flagging off the exercise in the Southern Senatorial District of the state.

According to him, “Cross River State should have six million votes for APC so as to solidify its position at the national level.

“To actualize this, we have commissioned youths to go down to the communities, schools and markets to get our people to register for their PVC.

“Starting in the Southern Senatorial District, youths across the 76 political wards will undertake this task and the essence is to support the Governor. We will not rest until we reach the target of six million votes”, he said.

He added that 250 youths from the seven local government areas of the Southern Senatorial District have been commissioned to commence the PVC drive.

Also speaking, Dunamis Archibong, the Senior Special Adviser to the Cross River State governor on Political Affairs (Office of the Chief of Staff) tasked youths to see the PVC drive as a sacrifice to guarantee the future of the state.
