Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has reportedly revealed that the 2026/27 season could be his final campaign in professional football.
Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, made this known in a post on his official Facebook page, quoting Ronaldo as saying that he is likely to bring his football career to an end soon.
According to Romano, Ronaldo said: “It’s likely that this will be my final year in football… I want to leave an incredible legacy. I have my future mapped out.”

The revelation has sparked reactions among football fans, with Ronaldo, 41, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.
The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus forward has continued to play at the highest level withb Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr and remains an important figure for the Portugal national team.
Ronaldo’s potential retirement would mark the end of one of the most remarkable careers in football, having won numerous domestic and international trophies and individual awards throughout his career.
