A nongovernmental organisation, Nigerian Youth Alternative Council (NYAC), has appealed to the federal government to create policies and infrastructure that will foster economic growth, innovation, and job creation in the country.
The Patron of the group  Benjamin Ubiri made the call at the 2024 National youth stakeholders press conference in honour of Amb Adetola Michael Adeyemi, icon of Nigerian youth, held in Abuja.
Ubiri stressed that certificate alone is not enough for the aspired development and growth.
He also called for the  prioritization of the well-being and professional development of their employees, fostering a culture of inclusivity, fairness, and opportunity.
“We must acknowledge the shared responsibility between government and the private sector in creating a conducive work environment. Governments must create policies and infrastructure that foster economic growth, innovation, and job creation. At the same time, employers must prioritize the well-being and professional development of their employees, fostering a culture of inclusivity, fairness, and opportunity.”
Earlier in his welcome remarks, NYAC president_Icon Nixon Chukwuka Odimbu urged the youth constituency to take up political struggle, adding that it is the only way through which the desired change can be obtained.
He said ” It is in this wise, we call on every Well-meaning Nigerian especially the community of youths to take up a political struggle, either to participate actively or passively  as it’s the only credible way to effect the change we want to see.
“The Area council’s elections is fast approaching, I charge you all children of the oppressed, to fight to ensuring credible and viable youth to take over the council’s leadership to provocliably cause a fundamental paradigm shift from the incompetent to competent, old generation to new generation.
Speaking on the award,he said Amb. Adetola Michael Adeyemi has proven to be youthful and youth oriented person, aside being youthful and passionate about the welfarism of the youth, he’s a servant leader and has proven realities.
Responding Ambassador Adetola Michael Adeyemi  appreciated the group for recognising his services to youths and humanity, describing the award as a call for more work.
“This award is an encouragement to do more because the reward of hard work is to do more.
I want to advise the youths to look within, collaborate and ensure the vision that they see is collective, otherwise the youth constituency will always continue to be defeated,he said.
