Crawford University has entered a defining chapter in its 20-year history with the official launch of the Crawford University Global Alumni Association (CRUGAA) during the 20th Anniversary Dinner and Awards Night held on November 4, 2025.

The celebration brought together alumni, faculty, university officials, and distinguished guests to honor the past and set a course for a sustainable and impactful future.

Delivering the inaugural address at the 20th Convocation Ceremony, Victor Oluwafemi Adeniji, President of CRUGAA, emphasized the alumni body’s pivotal role in shaping the university’s future. He stated, “Our alumni are not just witnesses of this journey; we are the builders of its next chapter,” Adeniji declared, drawing applause from the crowd. His words reflected a collective aspiration; to move beyond ceremony and build an enduring system that connects, empowers, and uplifts. The new administration’s agenda is ambitious yet clear: digitize alumni relations, expand global chapters, and create an alumni-driven fund that will empower students, strengthen the university’s structure, and sustain Crawford’s mission well beyond its 20th year” He said.

Echoing the vision of collective action, Tayelolu Adetutu remarked, “We stand at a threshold of becoming, where yesterday’s aspirations materialise today. Our collective voices, raised together, have announced the coming of a new era, a dawn born of choice and unified in purpose, one we celebrate together.”
Another distinguished alumnus, Prof. Mayowa Babalola, Stan Perron Chair in Business Ethics at the University of Western Australia, added, “Every institution reaches a point when celebration must give way to construction. For Crawford, that time is now. As alumni, our greatest contribution lies in creating structures that empower future generations. The future of Crawford will be built not by a few, but by all of us.”

The celebration also recognized outstanding achievements among students and staff. EZEAMAGU Esther Somchi, the Overall Best Graduating Student, Female, graduating with a CGPA of 4.88, received a total of 500,000 NGN in cash prizes from the alumni association for being the best graduating student, producing the best project in the College of Business and Social Sciences, and demonstrating Commitment to Excellence.

“As members of these prestigious alumni, let us use our collective strength to create new opportunities for future generations to thrive, while lifting each other higher in the process. Crawford University’s brand of education is all-encompassing, use it to transform the world one day at a time” said Dr Sam Osifeso, University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom
