A Federal High Court has ordered the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Service, (DSS), the Nigerian Army, and Mr. Chukwuka Chizorom aka (Ijele Speaks), to pay a cumulative sum of N155 million to the family of late Samuel Okoro, a Personal Assistant to the counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, Ifeanyi Ejiofor.
The late Samuel Okoro (aka Biggy), was gruesomely murdered in Ejiofor’s ancestral home in Oraifite, Anambra State on June 6, 2021, by the joint team of the Nigeria Police Force personnel, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, and one Mr. Chukwuka Chizorom (aka Ijele Speaks). His lifeless body was dumped inside the booth of Ejiofor’s Toyota Camry car, and consequently set ablaze along with the car.
In his judgment in the fundamental rights suit filed on behalf of the deceased, Justice H. A. Nganjiwa sitting in Awka, Anambra State, found the security personnel and Mr. Chizorom liable for the gruesome and genocidal murder of Samuel Okoro.
Besides, the court has ordered the above indicted security agents to tender unreserved apologies in two national dailies to the family of late Okoro.
In addition, the Inspector General of Police, Director General of the DSS, and the Chief of Army Staff, have been ordered by the court to immediately identify those involved in this crime for immediate sanctioning and prosecution.
Meanwhile, in his reaction, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to direct the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of the DSS, and the Chief of Army Staff, to immediately comply with the court order.
He further called on the Director General of the DSS to immediately and unconditionally release Ejiofor’s domestic staff, namely Felix Okonkwo; Lawrence Ugochukwu Okafor, and Ikenna Chibuike who were abducted during the invasion of Ejiofor’s home on June 6, 2021, and are still detained at the DSS Headquarters Abuja till date.
