Court to hear NFF’s eligibility suit March 4

court-gavel-2

Honourable justice IE Ekwo of the Abuja High Court has relisted suit No.1376/2021 brought before his court by the Harrison Jala’s led players union against the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and reaffirmed all the orders it issued on September 15.

The orders included putting on hold all activities concerning the conduct of elections into the executive board of NFF.

By relisting the orders, the court has now thrown out all the orders obtained at the Appeals Court that warranted the conduct of elections of September 30 that were held in Benin which brought Ibrahim Guasua led board to office.

Justice Ekwo has therefore fixed March 4, 2024 to hear the substantive matter which bothers on the proportional and equal representation of all five statutory members of the NFF congress, executive board and standing committees.

The import of the judgement implies that the NNF board disobeyed court order not to hold the Benin election congress  that brought present Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau board  of NFF into office.
