The traditional ruler of Azumini Ndoki ancient kingdom, in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, Eze (Prof) Edward Eule, Onyenweali X has resumed office and appointed a Prime Minister for the community.
Professor Rule was last year dethroned by Abia State Government over some cultural and administrative issues. He went to court and an Abia Court declared his removal null and void.
Speaking while appointing Chief Okoro Egege as Prime Minister to oversee the affairs of the community while he was away in the United States of America, Eze Eule declared there was no rift in the community regarding the traditional stool since the Abia State high court ruled in his favour.
He asked other parties seeking the traditional stool to put a halt to their selfish ambition he said was geared towards disturbing the peace and stability enjoyed in the community under his rule.
He said his absence from the community has not created any leadership gap ”I travelled to the United States of America (USA) to attend to other professional and personal matters in May 2025. I am robustly healthy and fine, and may soon conclude the task of my sojourn here”
He said it was unfortunate that some mischief makers have been moving around, peddling rumour that he abandoned the throne and are making calls for interim ruling council.
“By order of the High Court of Abia State, my position as the Eze and customary custodian of the Azumini’s resources and culture was reinforced and legitimised. Note that since the government’s appeal of the High Court has not been heard, the above ruling stands”

The monarch stated that his temporal absence from Azumini Ndoki has not in any way created a leadership vacuum and doesn’t invalidate him as their traditional ruler.
“I will cease to be the Eze when I join my ancestors, and the “Ofo” is passed on to my successor” he boasted.
“Given my temporary absence from Azumini, I explicitly designated High Chief Okoro Egege, the village head of ‘Uhu De Ogwe’ as Azumini’s Prime Minister, this designation is in line with the culture”
Eze Eule, described Chief Okoro’s new designation as a helping hand in the discharge of duties with other community chiefs until he returns.
“The Prime Minister is answerable to the Eze about the delegated duties and assigned powers/authority until my return”
He urged those who are inordinately desiring the throne to wait until he joins his ancestors.
