Justice Yetunde Adesanya of the Lagos State High Court, Tafawa Balewa Square, has scheduled June 24 for the arraignment of Adesola Adeyinka, founder and CEO of Vale Blue Limited, Vale Finance, and Coral Stone Limited. The court set the date after Adeyinka failed to appear for his arraignment on Thursday.

When the case was called on Thursday, the police prosecution counsel, CSP M.A. Omo-Osagie, informed the court that the matter was for arraignment but the suspect was not in court.

Adeyinka faces a four-count charge of conspiracy, fraud, stealing, threats, and making false statements, filed by the Nigeria Police for alleged offences between May 11, 2022, and November 17, 2023, at Marina Street and Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The police allege that Adeyinka used deceit and threats to defraud Barama Energy Resources Limited and Mr Oladipo Jimoh of N14,502,800 and $42,591, claiming these were loan facilities granted to Barama Energy Resources Ltd.

Adeyinka, who is now at large, allegedly used menaces, including threats of injury and detention, to demand $42,591 claiming it to be an unliquidated loan, the charge stated. He is also accused of fraudulent actions at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission office on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, on November 17, 2023.
