The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), an umbrella body of Igbo youths in Nigeria, has distanced itself from a purported press conference and apology issued by a non-existent “Reform Caucus” within the organisation.

In a statement signed by the President General of the group, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, and the Publicity Secretary, Comrade Okey Nwaoru, COSEYL described the individuals involved as impostors with no mandate to speak on behalf of the organisation.

The group called for an open investigation into matters concerning the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, emphasising that the issues raised in a petition must not be swept under the carpet through propaganda.

COSEYL urged Nigerians to disregard statements from the impostors and reaffirms its commitment to truth, justice, and accountability.
