Copa America: Vinicius Junior suspended for Brazil vs Uruguay quarter-final

Vinicius Junior has been suspended from partaking in Brazil’s Copa América quarterfinal clash with Uruguay.

The Real Madrid star, 23, received his second yellow card of the tournament in the last group-stage encounter against Colombia.

He was booked for bringing down James Rodriguez after only seven minutes of play in Santa Clara, California.

On Tuesday night, Brazil and Colombia battled for first place in Group D. He will now miss the last-eight match against Uruguay, which takes place on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Vinicius Junior has 33 caps for his country, with five goals.

He scored twice against Paraguay, trailing only Lautaro Martinez of Argentina in the hunt for the tournament’s Golden Boot.
