Controversy has erupted over the conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly primary election in Nasarawa Eggon West Constituency following allegations that electoral materials meant for the exercise were hijacked by hoodlums before voting commenced.

A group of concerned APC members in the constituency accused some individuals of attempting to subvert the will of party members through what they described as undemocratic means.

Chairman of the group, Manasseh Eggon on Thursday, alleged that there was no accreditation, voting or collation of results before purported election results surfaced online.

According to him, the circulated results were accompanied by “malicious and doctored spreadsheets” as well as fake announcements allegedly designed to mislead the public.

“It has come to our attention that materials designated for the official APC primary election in Nasarawa Eggon West were brazenly hijacked by sponsored hoodlums before the process could even commence,” he alleged.

“These individuals are now deploying a coordinated disinformation campaign, sharing forged results to mislead the public and undermine our great party’s credibility,” he added.
