Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on Christian leaders to keep praying for Nigerian leaders, particularly President Bola Tinubu.
The governor made this appeal in his goodwill message at the 2025 Inter-Denominational Divine Service, organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos Chapter.
The governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mrs Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, emphasized that the prayers of Christian leaders for Nigeria, Lagos State, President Tinubu, and his administration are deeply appreciated and will not be taken for granted.
He said the theme of the event, “Total Restoration” was in alignment with President Tinubu’s vision,as outlined in his 2025 budget, dubbed the “Budget of Restoration.”
Sanwo-Olu urged Christian leaders to continue praying for the complete restoration of Nigeria and Lagos State, especially to recover from challenges faced in the past.
“We must give immortal praise to God Almighty, the Maker of Heaven and Earth. He has been our help in ages past. He is our hope for years to come. He is our shield from the storming blast and our eternal hope and joy. Kindly continue to pray for Mr. President so that the reforms he embarked on will yield positive results for our dear nation, Nigeria and the total restoration shall be witnessed by all and sundry very soon”, he said.
In his address, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, Chairman of Lagos CAN, praised the Christian community for their unwavering support of the association.
He prayed for peace in Lagos State and Nigeria at large and offered prayers for Governor Sanwo-Olu and his cabinet.
Bishop Adegbite also urged his fellow Christian leaders to pray for President Tinubu’s success in the ongoing reforms aimed at achieving the country’s restoration.
