The unveiling which attracted hundreds of students of the university and authorities of the ivory tower was  heralded with a Hospitality Industry Career Insights at the faculty of social sciences lecture theatre, UNILAG, Akoka, Lagos.

This programme,  which focused on educating students about the diverse and rewarding career paths available in hospitality, serves as a prelude to the upcoming launch of a comprehensive hospitality academy.

The CHG chairman said the initiative highlights the Continentals Hotels Group’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) within Nigeria’s hospitality industry.

According to him, partnering with UNILAG, the programme aims to bridge the gap between academics and the real-world demands of the hospitality sector.

He said that the group was thrilled to launch the initiative at UNILAG being a foremost citadel of learning in the country.

“The Nigerian hospitality industry is booming, and we see a tremendous opportunity to equip talented students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in this dynamic field,” he noted.

According to him,  though details of the forthcoming academy are still under development, the current initiative provides UNILAG students with valuable resources and insights into the hospitality industry.

He said that these includes information on various career paths, industry trends, and essential skills needed for success.

The Hotels group chairman said that the career guidance is expected to culminate in the launch of a comprehensive hospitality academy, offering students a chance to gain practical experience and specialized training.

He pointed out that the academy represents a significant investment in the future of Nigerian hospitality and positions with Continentals Hotels Group as a leader in fostering industry growth and development.

Kansagra noted that in addition to training, the academy aims to raise awareness about career opportunities in hospitality management.

Speaking, the UNILAG Deputy Vice Chancellor (Developmental Services), Prof Ayodele Atsenuwa thanked the management of Continental Hotels for the unparalleled opportunity given to the students, as well as veritable avenue to raise future ready graduates for the Nigerian economy.
