Construction of $40 billion Oji River industrial park to start soon

By Peter Anosike

The Enugu State in partnership with CeeLux group, a renowned infrastructure development company, has concluded arrangements to start the construction of the $40 billion Oji River Industrial Park.

The marketing executive of Ceelux Group, Biblas Chidi, speaking on the multi-billion trade complex which would be the biggest in Africa, said the park would be located at Ugwuoba, a few minutes drive from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.

According to her, the industrial park would be a one-stop business complex with housing estates, recreation centres, schools, hospitals and other infrastructures.

She said that there would be solar and waste-to-energy facilities to ensure round the clock supply of electricity, adding that the latest security equipment like CCTV and others would be used to ensure water-tight security in the complex.

She said that both foreign and local financial institutions were already on the ground to fund the project which would include about 150,000 shop spaces, plazas, and other facilities.

She said that talks were also ongoing between Enugu State and Federal Government to upgrade Akanu Ibiam cargo and passenger airport so that foreign airlines could be landing there.

“This is a very big opportunity for easterners in

particular and Nigerians in general to invest in a very conducive business environment devoid of the constant harassment, intimidation, and extortion that they are being treated in other places. With the upgrade of Akanu Ibiam International Airport, your containers would be landing in Enugu and that would be saving you a great deal in revenue and other extortions and molestations.

Oji River Industrial Park is where you would be proud to call your own and do your business in peace and with a relaxed mind,” Chidi said.
