Senator representing Ondo North, Olajide Ipinsagba, has been lauded for his contributions to the development of the district in the last two years, especially with the approval for the establishment of the Information Communications Technology (ICT) university in Ikare Akoko, which he facilitated.
The lawmaker reportedly facilitated many impactful projects and sustainable developments across the senatorial district since he assumed office two years ago.
A statement issued by the office of the senator in Akure, indicates that the constituents spread across all the communities that make up the senatorial district expressed gratitude to the senator, stressing that the achievements of senator Ipinsagba spread across all the sectors of the economy including agriculture, education , health and infrastructure.
It emphasised that the contributions of Senator Ipinsagba to the development of his senatorial district has transformed the district and improved the lives of its people.
“Senator Ipinsagba sponsored and successfully passed the bill for the establishment of the ICT university in Ikare Akoko, a landmark achievement that provides the youths of Ondo North with access to cutting-edge digital education and skills development. A public hearing on the bill was held in December 2024, marking significant progress toward the university’s establishment.

“Also , the senator convened the first ever town hall meeting in Ondo North, engaging farmers, artisans, students, traditional leaders, women groups and other stakeholders. This forum institutionalised participatory governance, ensuring community voices directly influence policy and development priorities.
“He also empowered farmers and youths with modern mechanized farming techniques, significantly boosting productivity. He distributed fertilizers, seedlings, and equipment, even as he provided critical inputs to enhance local food security and support sustainable agriculture.”
“In the area of education, over 1,000 scholarships and bursaries were awarded to students of various tertiary institutions across Ondo North senatorial district. This is even as free UTME forms are given annually to more than 1,000 students, removing financial barriers to higher education.
“He also facilitated federal jobs for his constituents as he secured employment in agencies such as NNPC, Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, Rural Electrification Agency, Nigeria Customs Service and Nigeria Air Force.
“In addition, he installed transformers in Owo, Ikare, Isua, Ogbagi and deployed solar lighting in remote communities and Adekunle Ajasin University Senate Building. The senator also installed industrial boreholes in Okeagbe, Afo, Ikare, and Owo; constructed modern restrooms at Ikare Police Area Command,” the statement read.
Senator Ipinsagba, according to the statement has used his position as Chairman, senate committee on Public Procurement to champion efficient resource allocation for the benefit of his constituents.
