Conoil appoints new acting company secretary

Conoil Plc has announced the resignation of its Company Secretary, David Lanre-Leke, and the appointment of Bolaji Owolabi as Acting Company Secretary.

In a notice dated November 13, 2025, the company said Lanre-Leke resigned effective September 8, 2025.

“This is to notify the shareholders of Conoil Plc (Conoil or the Company), Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), and the investing public of the resignation of Mr. David Lanre-Leke as the Company Secretary of Conoil PLC effective September 8, 2025,” the company stated.

The board and management expressed appreciation to Lanre-Leke for his services during his tenure.

The company also announced that Owolabi was appointed Acting Company Secretary effective November 12, 2025, pending the appointment of a substantive company secretary.

“further notice is hereby given that Bolaji Owolabi has been appointed as the Acting Company Secretary of the Company effective November 12, 2025, pending the appointment of a substantive Company Secretary,” the notice added.

Owolabi was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1999. He holds an LL.B from Lagos State University and an LL.M from the University of Lagos. He is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACI Arb.) UK.

He previously practised law at Dapo Abudu & Co. And Prof. I. O. Smith (SAN) Chambers before joining Globacom Ltd. In 2003. He has more than 20 years’ corporate experience in the telecommunications industry, with experience in commercial legal drafting and corporate legal practice.

The notice was signed by the company’s Finance Director, Ismail Salam, on behalf of the board.
