A coalition of civil society groups for peace, security, good governance, equity and justice has commended Major General Adamu Laka, national coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), for his patriotic call for a multi-dimensional approach in preventing violent extremism and reviewing the security strategy to halt the killings in Plateau State.
In a statement by James Okoronkwo, national coordinator of the Coalition, the group praised Major General Laka’s forward-thinking approach, noting that it demonstrates his commitment to finding lasting solutions to the security challenges facing the nation.
The Coalition believes that adopting a multi-dimensional approach, which incorporates social, economic, cultural and security measures, would help address the root causes of violent extremism and promote sustainable peace and stability in Plateau State and beyond.
We urge all stakeholders to join hands with the President Bola Tinubu administration to halt the killings in Plateau State by living in peace with one another, fostering unity and promoting understanding among communities.
