Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has been hospitalized.

Real Madrid confirmed this in a statement posted on their website on Thursday.

According to Los Blancos, France’s captain is suffering from an extreme acute case of gastroenteritis.

As a result, the former Paris Saint-Germain forward was brought to the hospital for a series of checkups.

This means that Mbappe will miss Real Madrid’s next FIFA Club World Cup match against Pachuca on Sunday.

Mbappe missed Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw with Al Hilal on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old hopes to heal in time to compete in the present FIFA World Cup action in the United States.
