Cleaques Sports, a digital platform focused on grassroots sports development, has announced new initiatives aimed at elevating emerging football talents to the global stage.
The announcement was made over the weekend during a media parley held at the UNILAG Guest House in Lagos.
Speaking at the event, the Vice of Strategic Partnerships and Ecosystem Growth, Saint Agomeze Chukwuemeka, said the platform is designed to enable young players upload video highlights that can be accessed by scouts and talent recruiters worldwide. He added that Cleaques Sports will also function as an intermediary, bridging the gap between athletes and professional opportunities.
He further revealed that the organisation, which is preparing to participate in the prestigious Prime Minister’s Cup in Barbados, is actively pursuing international partnerships that will enhance exposure for local athletes and provide access to world-class competitions.
According to him, Cleaques Sports is committed to building structured pathways that transform grassroots talent into global competitors while strengthening Africa’s presence in the international sports ecosystem.
“As part of our commitment to connecting African sports talent with global opportunities, Cleaques Sports is exploring international platforms that will increase exposure for local athletes and create access to elite competitions and partnerships,” he said.
“One of the opportunities under consideration is participation in the Prime Minister’s Cup in Barbados, which offers a valuable stage for African players to compete internationally, gain experience, and showcase their abilities to a global audience.”
He also noted that the organisation is seeking strategic collaborations, including with Air Peace, following the airline’s launch of direct flights between Nigeria and Barbados. According to him, such partnerships could ease talent mobility and strengthen cross-regional sporting ties.
“In addition, Cleaques Sports will participate in the 2026 Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) Summit in Lagos. CANEX is a major platform that brings together stakeholders across trade, investment, culture, sports, and the creative industries,” he added.
“Our participation aligns with our vision of building strategic global partnerships that accelerate the growth of African sports. Through engagement with investors, sports organisations, governments, brands, media, and other stakeholders, we aim to unlock new opportunities for grassroots talents.”
He reiterated that the organisation’s long-term goal is to establish a leading African digital sports ecosystem that consistently transforms local athletes into globally recognised professionals.
Meanwhile, the Sports Director of Cleaques Sports, Ojediran Adewale, disclosed plans to organise a nationwide grassroots competition that will bring together young talents from across the country to showcase their skills in front of international scouts.
