The City Boy Movement (CBM) has removed its Oyo State Coordinator, Ahmed Ajibola, over allegations of gross misconduct, insubordination and actions considered detrimental to the interests of the organisation.

The decision followed disciplinary proceedings initiated after a petition was filed against Ajibola, accusing him of conduct that allegedly violated the movement’s code of conduct.

His removal comes about two months after the movement issued him a formal notice to show cause, directing him to respond to the allegations levelled against him.

In a notice dated June 2, 2026, and signed by the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, Ajibola was accused of making abusive, insulting and derogatory remarks against the national leadership of the organisation, including the Director-General.

The petition further alleged that he made offensive comments about the movement’s patron, Barr. Seyi Tinubu, and directed derogatory remarks at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He was also accused of acts of insubordination, disrespect for constituted authority and behaviour inconsistent with the objectives of the organisation.

According to the petition, Ajibola allegedly challenged a leader of the movement in Oyo State to a physical confrontation, created division and factionalisation within the state chapter, and engaged in actions capable of bringing the image and reputation of the City Boy Movement into disrepute.

The movement had directed him to submit a written defence within 48 hours, warning that failure to provide a satisfactory response could attract disciplinary sanctions.

Following the conclusion of the disciplinary process, the leadership of the organisation announced his removal as Oyo State Coordinator.

Meanwhile, the City Boy Movement has appointed Hon. Adewale Oladiti as the new Oyo State Coordinator.

According to his appointment letter dated August 6, 2026, Oladiti’s selection was based on his commitment to the movement, grassroots mobilisation efforts and readiness to contribute to its growth and advancement in Oyo State.

The appointment letter also clarified the leadership structure of the organisation in the state, stating that the State Coordinator reports directly to the Oyo State Director and operates under the Director’s authority, supervision and overall leadership.

It further emphasised that the State Director remains the principal head and chief coordinating authority of the City Boy Movement in Oyo State.
