The China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) has released a report on China’s Actions for Advancing Global Dialogue Among Civilisations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China said the report was released on 10 June 2026, on the occasion of the second International Day for Dialogue among Civilisations.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry recalled that in March 2023, President Xi Jinping proposed the Global Civilisation Initiative, calling on all parties to jointly advocate respect for the diversity of civilisations, jointly advocate the common values of humanity, jointly advocate the importance of inheritance and innovation of civilisations, and jointly advocate robust international people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, providing a Chinese proposal for promoting the progress of human civilisation.

“In June 2024, the 78th session of the UN General Assembly adopted by consensus a resolution proposed by China and 82 other countries, designating 10 June every year as the International Day for Dialogue among Civilisations, which received an enthusiastic response and broad support from the international community,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
The ministry also said that, to further review and summarise China’s experience, practices and major achievements in promoting the implementation of the Global Civilisation Initiative and facilitating global dialogue among civilisations, the CIIS compiled the report on “China’s Actions for Advancing Global Dialogue Among Civilisations”.
“The report introduces the historical background and profound implications of the Global Civilisation Initiative and systematically reviews China’s concepts, policies and practical achievements in promoting dialogue among civilisations from five aspects: pooling broad international consensus on exchanges and mutual learning among civilisations; supporting the United Nations in playing its role as the primary platform for dialogue among civilisations; deepening bilateral and regional dialogue among civilisations; advancing multilateral cooperation on dialogue among civilisations; and integrating dialogue among civilisations into exchanges and cooperation across various fields. It also looks ahead to China’s next steps in promoting dialogue among civilisations,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated.
