Chinese President Xi Jinping, has expressed delight over the re-election of Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema.
In his congratulatory message to Hichilema, Xi recalled his meeting with the Zambian President on two consecutive times in recent years where they jointly steered the development of China-Zambia relations.
According to Xinhua News Agency, President Xi said the political mutual trust between the two countries has continued to deepen, practical cooperation has been fruitful, and China and Zambia have closely coordinated and cooperated in multilateral affairs.
The Chinese President also said he placed great importance to the development of China-Zambia ties, and stood ready to work with Hichilema to implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
While assuring the Zambian leader of China’s readiness to join in carrying forward, traditional friendship, cementing mutual support, and continuously raising the level of mutually beneficial cooperation, Xi further said the efforts will take the China-Zambia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to new heights and deliver greater benefits to the two peoples.
