Chinese envoy Yu Dunhai receives DG NIPSS, two others

The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, has received in audience the Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, Professor Ayo Omotayo.

The Chinese envoy disclosed the development in a post on X.

Yu said: “Today, I met with Professor Ayo Omotayo, Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (@NIPSSKuru).

“The China–Nigeria Comprehensive Strategic Partnership continues to grow from strength to strength, delivering fruitful outcomes across a wide range of sectors.”

Yu also said that, building on the positive momentum, China stood ready to deepen practical cooperation with Nigeria and welcomed Nigeria to make full use of China’s zero-tariff treatment, facilitating the entry of more quality Nigerian products into the Chinese market and enabling Nigeria to share in the opportunities offered by China’s vast market.

In a similar vein, the Chinese ambassador received in audience the Director of Regions, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Grema Garba Satomi.

Posting on X, Yu said: “I met with Amb. Grema Garba Satomi, mni, Director (Regions) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria @NigeriaMFA.

“As we mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Nigeria, China stands ready to maintain close high-level exchanges with Nigeria, further consolidate strategic mutual trust, fully leverage the benefits of China’s zero-tariff policy, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation across a wide range of fields, and promote the high-quality development of the China–Nigeria Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.”

Also, Ambassador Yu received in audience the Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on South East Development Commission, Senator Anthony Ani.

“Today, I met with Senator Anthony Ani, Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on South East Development Commission.

“This year marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Nigeria. For 55 years, China and Nigeria have built a relationship founded on mutual respect, equality and shared progress. Today, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our bilateral relationship continues to gain new momentum,” he said.

The Chinese envoy also said China is ready to work with Nigeria to implement the important consensus reached by the two leaders, deepen exchanges and cooperation between both governments and legislatures, firmly support each other on issues concerning the respective core interests and major concerns, and take the China–Nigeria Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to new heights.
