Children are future leaders. Their innocence and tender nature are joy givers in every home, gathering and the society at large. They are regularly celebrated but with special preference annually on May 27 in Nigeria. This is a day nationally dedicated to honour these younger generations and little creatures as their relevance cannot be overemphasized. It is also a day for adults to have nostalgic memories of their childhood experiences.
Viju Milk Nigeria organised an event, “Celebrate their Brilliance” to commemorate the Children’s Day. It took place in its premises in Ikeja, Lagos.
Its Brand Manager, Raphael Osiomwan, said the event was designed for students from various schools and NGOs “to share in their joy as they celebrate their day. It reiterates the company’s commitment to their developmental growth and total wellbeing.
“In the spirit of Children’s Day, Viju Milk launched a campaign tagged, Celebrate their Brilliance, an initiative strategically designed to recognise and foster the bright young minds of our nation.
“It is part of the company’s commitment to nurturing the potential of the next generation. Viju recently introduced the Viju Educational Tour Programme to support learners’ academic and creative abilities.
The tour involves taking the students on a journey through our state-of–the-art facilities and interactive educational adventure that allows children see, touch and learn about the processes of producing their favourite Viju products. As going through these processes will inspire a passion for learning and innovation as every child holds the promise of brilliance.”
Viju products were shared to schools, NGOs and the host community. The affected schools included Police Children School Ikeja, Golden Anchor, Bridge International School and Joy Children’s School.
Also affected were JTAH Foundation, DOAM Foundation, Help a Soul Foundation and Scholar Kids Concept among others. Students were presented with “Welcome Pack” containing Viju various products and branded exercise books.
Aderonke Oyelakin, State Coordinator, Child Protection Network, an initiative of UNICEF, commended Viju for supporting children in various endeavours especially during Children’s Day: “This magnanimous act is a way of giving back to the society.”
