Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has called on Nigerians to renew their commitment to safeguarding and empowering children, describing them as the nation’s most precious asset.
In a statement to mark Children’s Day 2025, issued on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, she stressed the urgent need to tackle challenges facing Nigerian children, especially the girl child. She listed bullying, violence, and exploitation as critical issues threatening the well-being of young people and called for a collective societal resolve to protect them.
“As emphasised in Mr President’s statement, we all must collectively encourage our children to stand up to bullies everywhere. We must build a society that supports and encourages children to aspire to the highest levels of their dreams and ambitions,” she stated.

She urged all Nigerians to recommit to building a country where children are safe, supported, and empowered to thrive.
