Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has been named executive music producer and curator of the soundtrack for Paramount Pictures’ forthcoming fantasy epic, Children of Blood and Bone, further strengthening her growing influence in Hollywood’s global entertainment industry.
The announcement was made during the film’s trailer launch in New York, where acclaimed director Gina Prince-Bythewood revealed that Tems would oversee the project’s musical direction and contribute three original songs to the soundtrack.
Film journalist and founder of BlackFilmandTV, Wilson Morales, shared details of the announcement after attending the event.
“At the trailer launch event in New York City for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming epic fantasy film, Children of Blood and Bone, director Gina Prince-Bythewood announced that singer Tems will executive music produce and curate the soundtrack for the film.
“She also contributed three songs. Burna Boy is coming on board as the executive music consultant,” Morales wrote.
Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, later confirmed the development in a post on X, describing the project as another milestone in the singer’s flourishing international career.

The announcement followed the release of the film’s first official trailer, which also gave audiences their first glimpse of Nigerian music star Ayra Starr in her feature film acting debut.
Ayra Starr, who plays an undisclosed role in the adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling fantasy novel, previously described the production as her first major acting project.
Tems’ hit single, Me & U, also features prominently in the film’s official teaser, offering audiences an early taste of the musical direction she will now lead as executive producer.
Based on Adeyemi’s internationally acclaimed novel, Children of Blood and Bone features an ensemble cast that includes Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lashana Lynch, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ayra Starr and Damson Idris.
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, Children of Blood and Bone is scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on January 15, 2027, with expectations already high that the adaptation will rank among Hollywood’s biggest fantasy releases of the year.
