Renowned author and former governorship candidate of the Action Alliance and BOOT Party in Anambra State, Okeke Chika-Jerry, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Chika-Jerry, who formally declared his membership of the ADC at the party office in Awka at the weekend, said his decision to jettison his former party and pitch tent with the ADC aligns with his belief that the party holds great prospects and promises for Nigeria’s liberation.
He regretted what he described as the downward slide of the country under the present administration, expressing hope that, with the calibre of personalities behind the ADC, Nigeria will be redeemed on all fronts.
“Our country today is challenged with diverse problems, insecurity, massive corruption, galloping inflation among other ills. While Nigerians hope on Mr President to rescue the country, there is actually no hope to give as the same administration continues to borrow in trillions in the midst of abundant resources we have in this country.

“I decided to join this movement now because I think ADC offers hope for the future of our country. Also, due to the constant requests from my people to join a bigger political party in order for me to actualise my aspirations, I hereby announce that I am joining the ADC.
“This is also as a form of solidarity for our dear brother Mr Peter Obi whom I believe, that if we all join hands with him, a new Nigeria is actually possible. I hereby call on all Nigerians especially the youths and women to join forces with ADC for a prosperous Nigeria,” he stated.
Speaking after receiving him and presenting the membership card, Chairman of ADC in Anambra, Chief Patrick Obianyo, welcomed Okeke into the fold.
Obianyo said Chika-Jerry, by his latest move, has joined the breed of Nigerians who will give the country a new lease of life for good.
