Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), paid an official visit to the Naval Dockyard Limited (NDL) in Lagos on Tuesday.
This visit included a comprehensive inspection of the dockyard’s facilities and preparations for the upcoming Nigerian Navy (NN) 68th Anniversary Celebration, which will be hosted by NDL.
During his visit, Vice Admiral Ogalla was accompanied by Rear Admiral Abolaji Orederu, the Admiral Superintendent of the Naval Dockyard (ASND). Together, they reviewed several key areas and projects, reflecting the dockyard’s ongoing enhancements and readiness for the anniversary celebrations.

The NDL Conference Hall
The Exhibition Tent
The construction sites for Seaward Defence Boats (SDB) 4 and 5
In addition to the inspections, Vice Admiral Ogalla also commissioned several significant projects, underscoring the dockyard’s advancement and modernization. These projects included:
The renovated General Manager Sea Training (GMST) Block
An Electroplating Plant
A Galvanizing Plant
A newly constructed elevator for the NDL Conference Hall
The NDL Gallery
The remodeled Administrative Block
The upgraded NDL Officers Mess
The NDL Sports Complex
Vice Admiral Ogalla praised Rear Admiral Orederu and the NN 68th Anniversary Organizing Committee for their exceptional work and encouraged them to maintain their high standards of excellence.
