Alabi Oluwadamilola Victoria has emerged as Redeemer’s University’s overall best graduating student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 5.00 in Accounting, having also qualified as a chartered accountant before graduation.
Vice-Chancellor of the Ede, Osun State-based university, Prof. Shadrach Akindele, announced the honours at its convocation, where Victoria received several awards, including the Oluremi Tinubu Award for the Best Graduating Student.
He said she was among eight students who qualified through the May 2026 Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria examinations.
“Five of them are graduating at this convocation, while three remain undergraduates, including one student, who qualified while still in 200 level,” he said.
The university’s Visitor, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, represented by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Pastor Olukayode Pitan, urged the graduates to uphold integrity and diligence despite the difficult economic climate.
“In the past, when a student reached this stage, parents could relax because multiple job offers awaited every graduate. That was the case when I graduated, but things are different now. May the Lord intervene and prosper our nation again,” he said.
He urged them to stand for truth and justice and measure success by their contribution to others.
In her valedictory speech, Victoria said her years of study had also involved running businesses, building communities and solving problems.
“I am not standing here just as someone with a good CGPA, but as someone who has learned that our capacity is often far greater than we think,” she said.
