Charlie Marie Group of Schools honours outstanding staff, families at 12th Annual Christmas Celebration

The Charlie Marie Group of Schools held its 12th annual Christmas party at the weekend—a colourful celebration marked by awards, performances, and a strong community spirit.

The event, themed: “Love,” emphasised self-love, love for God, family, and humanity, reflecting the values the school instills in its pupils.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to the school’s outstanding teachers. At the college level, Mrs. Abidemi Olatunji received the Teacher of the Year Award. In the primary section, Miss Favour Okobah, an alumna of Charlie Marie who is still advancing her education, earned the same honour, taking over from Mrs. Zainab Kareem, who previously held the award for three consecutive years.

The school also introduced a unique category—the Couple of the Year Award—which was presented to Mr. Yemi and Mrs. Omolola Iyowu in appreciation of their exemplary role model support and diligent involvement in school activities.

Addressing the audience, Evangelist Adekunbi Akin-Taylor, the school’s Founder and Proprietress, expressed pride in the pupils’ achievements and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to nurturing future leaders.

Parents were also commended for their support and encouraged to maintain unity and partnership with the school’s vision.

Akin-Taylor noted the harmonious turnout of both Christian and Muslim parents, describing it as a reflection of the school’s inclusive values.
