God, in his infinite wisdom and for his own pleasure, created different races with different skin colours and located them in different regions of the world.
As far we know, no race is superior to another in God’s estimation. All racial ratings as per intelligence, qualities, beauty, name it, are the mischievous works of men.
God has no favourite race. Glory to God Almighty, Jesus Christ, his only begotten son, wasn’t white, the supposedly superior race. He wasn’t born in Europe or the United States of America, the world’s leading regions in terms of technological advances and all developmental measurements.
So, there’s no reason for anyone to feel less or more than another because of skin colour. At death, skin colours degenerate, like all human organs. Knowledge also disappears, wisdom perishes and status no longer counts. In the grave, all the dead are equal, regardless of race, gender, status, ethnicity, religion and financial standing.
Therefore, racism is one of men’s vain inventions intended to enslave and oppress others because of their underdeveloped status, pure and simple! Racism is a byproduct of the pride that comes with development, prosperity, power and technology of western nations. These western nations colonized the black countries of Africa and other so-called people of colour in Asia, the Americas and other regions, after the transatlantic slave trade, and then deployed the subject people thus conquered to build the wealth and prosperity of the west; racial oppression and psychological degradation through racism are the rewards they dish out to blacks as well as other people of colour in the scheme of things after exploiting them and their resources.
Rather than pay reparation for the unjust slave trade and plunder of the resources of blacks and other people of colour for the misdeeds of their ancestors, white folks today continue to discriminate against blacks and other people of colour who either migrate or find themselves in the west as a result of the forced relocation of their ancestors.
As a result of the change in residency, black people are forced to live like white folks, talk like them and adopt their lifestyles.
Black women, in order to be considered beautiful by western standards, bleach their skin to look as white as possible.
Many black women around the world try to look white to conform to western standards of beauty. Most, like their male counterparts, think and behave like white people as much as possible. This colonial mentality is the legacy of long periods of white rule in all colonized territories and nations.
The black man and woman are no longer proud of their skin colour, hair, way of life, food, culture and language. In some nations, people can’t say a simple sentence in their native language without mixing it with words in English, French, Spanish or other European languages.
Our women’s natural endowments like the curvy, Figure-8 they are known for, are little appreciated, even though white men openly admire our ladies for these endowments.
Someone asked: why bleach when whites go to the beach for suntan? Whites expose their bodies to the sun to get darker, while blacks bleach to look fairer. What an irony!
This is a serious matter of cultural identity, which the World Black Congress (WBC) being advocated should address when it is inaugurated. We must be proud of what God gave us. There is no mistake in creation. Everything was made for God’s pleasure and nobody should feel inferior because of other people’s opinion.
This is one message our women should take to heart. As a vulnerable group, black women suffer even more than their male counterparts. Women are our mothers and because of their gender, they carry a lot of burden. They carry a lot of responsibilities. Therefore, they must be responsible.
They face discrimination in employment, in the workplace, at home, everywhere. Black women are sexually harassed and abused, insulted, abandoned, mistreated in subhuman ways sometimes. Thankfully, Rosa Parks was an African- American woman who stoutly rejected the norm of standing for a white man in a bus in Alabama, USA, and helped the blackman reclaim his dignity in the gory days of racism in America.
Black women should respect their natural colours and stop bleaching. Using whitening cream can’t make you white. It only damages your beautiful colour and exposes you to ridicule. Left as you are; you are black and beautiful. You should be black and proud! Unfortunately, many black women are not proud of their skin colour. Too bad!
Beyond skin colour, however, every black person should be proud of who they are; what they can achieve and the worth of themselves as human beings. Don’t let anyone devalue you on account of your skin colour. You are a great man or woman. Nobody has a right to look down on you.
The Black struggle is not over until the last Black person is liberated.
